Credibility Check: Expert Opinion

Evaluate the credibility of an expert's opinion or recommendation using the three-question framework.

Not all experts are equally credible, and even credible experts can be wrong outside their domain. This exercise helps you assess expertise systematically.

Guidelines:

  • Name the specific expert and their claim or recommendation.
  • Distinguish between domain expertise and this specific claim.
  • Look for consensus vs. contrarian positions within the field.
  • Synthesis should address: Would you act on this advice? What confidence level?
